Unique modular design

TeraRanger Evo sensors consist of an opto-electronic sensing device (black module) and a choice of backboard (yellow model), which simply plugs-in to provide the sensor with its communication link and power management capabilities without the need for adapters or complex wiring. You simply choose the backboard that best suits your application and communication protocol! USB, I2C and UART backboards are available.

For first time users, we recommend the USB backboard as it allows quick tests on PC with our graphical user interface. This setup is also required for possible firmware updates in future.

Plug & Play multi-sensor applications

It is also possible to build multi-sensor applications with TeraRanger Evo 600Hz sensors. Connect up to 8 Evo sensors to our lightweight PCB board, called TeraRanger Hub Evo, that enables users to quickly prototype custom sensor arrays without being constrained to pre-set configurations. Does it work outdoors?

Yes, it does, but its range and update rate can be affected by the environment. Please Contact us for a full test report.

What is the minimum/maximum working temperature for TeraRanger Evo ?

The generic operating temperatures for TeraRanger Evo distance sensors are from -10°C to 45°C. However, we have run the sensors in our climatic chamber at -20°C and up to 60°C without inducing failures. We are also aware of customers running the sensors in warm environments and we've never yet received feedback of adverse operation or failure. We always recommend our clients to run their own tests to determine suitability to their needs.
