Lightweight and high-performance distance sensing platform for robotics, automation and IoT applications
TeraRanger Evo 60m is the long-range Time-of-Flight sensor addition to the Evo family. With its 60 meters detection range and an update rate of up to 240Hz, it offers high-performance in a compact (from 9 grams) and low-cost design. Thanks to its long-range distance sensing capabilities, it is often used as a precision altimeter on drones, navigation and collision-avoidance tool for robotics, level sensing and for many more IoT monitoring applications.

TeraRanger Evo sensors consist of an opto-electronic sensing device (black module) and a choice of backboard (yellow model), which simply plugs-in to provide the sensor with its communication link and power management capabilities without the need for adapters or complex wiring. You simply choose the backboard that best suits your application and communication protocol! USB, I2C and UART backboards are available.
For first time users, we recommend the USB backboard as it allows quick tests on PC with our graphical user interface. This setup is also required for possible firmware updates in future.
Other backboards with industry standard interfaces and protocols can also be made to support your application. Contact Terabee at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your project requirements.
Looking for a contactless way to monitor fill level in your silos? With its 60 meter range and a narrow 2° Field of View - our long-range ToF distance sensor is ideal for continuous level sensing in taller and larger silos (e.g animal feed bins, grain storage silos, construction materials).
The compact design supports OEM and design-in projects, while the low power consumption is great for battery powered integrations.
It is also possible to build multi-sensor applications with TeraRanger Evo 60m sensors. Connect up to 8 Evo sensors to our lightweight PCB board, called TeraRanger Hub Evo, that enables users to quickly prototype custom sensor arrays without being constrained to pre-set configurations. TeraRanger Hub Evo also features a built-in sensor crosstalk avoidance system. Want to know more? Visit the TeraRanger Hub Evo page.
Yes, it does, but its range and update rate can be affected by the environment. Please Contact us for a full test report.
Is it compatible with Pixhawk?
Yes, it does, please find the “Instruction manual for connection to Pixhawk Autopilots” in the downloads section of the product page.
What is the minimum/maximum working temperature for TeraRanger Evo ?
The generic operating temperatures for TeraRanger Evo distance sensors are from -10°C to 45°C. However, we have run the sensors in our climatic chamber at -20°C and up to 60°C without inducing failures. We are also aware of customers running the sensors in warm environments and we've never yet received feedback of adverse operation or failure. We always recommend our clients to run their own tests to determine suitability to their needs.

Husense, a smart building and smart retail solutions provider, selected and incorporated Terabee’s Time-of-Flight (ToF) People Counting L-XL technology into its prize winning solutions.
“The technology appeared to be the perfect fit for our platform and requirements and the team was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. Their engineers worked extremely hard and very proactively to help integrate its people counting technology with our platform and as a result we have been able to quickly launch our solution within retail and hospitality and the business sector.”
